Michelle Obama will be in town Feb. 20 to appear with Will Ferrell and Arcade Fire on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
So don’t be surprised if the first lady also stops by the New Museum on The Bowery to see “Taking Back the Streets,” a street-art show in honor of her Partnership for a Healthier America, the fight against childhood obesity.
The 14 artists in the show — including Kenny Scharf, Shepard Fairey, Swoon, Shantell Martin and my son, Damon Johnson — all designed Wat-aah! water bottles that will replace sugary soft drinks in schools.
According to a press release, Wat-aah! “intends to reclaim the space where kids live, by replacing the information and visual stimulation that bombards them every day with new messages about healthy hydration.”
