How many celebrity chefs does it take to open a bottle of Champagne?

After the Tuesday announcement by Bill Clinton, Mayor de Blasio and other VIPs to unveil Harlem EatUp! — an ambitious food and cultural event set for May 2015 — EatUp! co-founder and Red Rooster chef Marcus Samuelsson was primed to pop some bubbly at his restaurant.

But, “The cork broke off,” a foodie spy said. Daniel Boulud then got into the act and tried to use a fork to pry the cork loose.

When that didn’t work, Barbuto’s quick-thinking Jonathan Waxman “ran to the kitchen” and got a corkscrew, which did the trick.

Samuelsson also made the announcement with his co-founder, food festival guru Herb Karlitz.
