Lana Del Rey: Sleeping with industry guys didn’t get me a record deal

Despite what a song on her new album suggests, Lana Del Rey says she didn’t sleep her way to the top of the music industry.

The singer, 28, addresses her song “F—-d My Way Up to the Top,” which appears on her second album, “Ultra Violence,” in an interview in the August issue of Complex.

“You know, I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me get my record deals. Which is annoying,” she said.

The quote is the latest provocative statement to emanate from the “Video Games” singer during the press cycle for her latest record.

In June, Del Rey started a mini-controversy when she told the Guardian that she wished she were dead. The sentiment caused Kurt Cobain’s daughter Frances to take to Twitter to ask artists to stop romanticizing dying young.

Last week, Del Rey told Rolling Stone that she didn’t want people to hear or think about her music.
