Margo Seibert got off to a good start in her Broadway debut in “Rocky” — when she was given Barbra Streisand’s dressing room.
Seibert, who is actually much too pretty to play the mousy Adrian, didn’t get a private bathroom. Actor Andy Karl (Rocky) needs plumbing to wash off all the fake blood he gets covered in while battling Apollo Creed.
But Seibert told me backstage at the Winter Garden on Wednesday night — after the nightly standing ovation — that hers is the dressing room Barbra Streisand used in 1964 as the star of “Funny Girl.”
Having only done regional theater before, Seibert was thrilled when she learned she had landed the part of Adrian, but she couldn’t pop open champagne or shout for joy. “I was baby-sitting,” she said. “I had to whisper when I called my mother to tell her.”
