Two days after Palestinian journalist Rula Jebreal accused MSNBC of being “disgustingly biased” in its coverage of Israel, she was toasting Ruth Dayan, the 97-year-old widow of Israeli military leader and politician Moshe Dayan.

Jebreal said Dayan “has always been not about what’s popular, but about what is right,” in front of guests including veteran newsman Gabe Pressman, actress Tovah Feldshuh and mogul Pete Peterson at an intimate Four Seasons lunch for Dayan hosted by her granddaughter Amalia Dayan, Peggy Siegal and Jebreal.

“You have taught the women of the Middle East the future is bright,” Jebreal added, among moving tributes by Amalia and others.

Dayan founded fashion house Maskit to create jobs for women, and has championed causes for immigrants in Israel. The intrepid nonagenarian was headed back to Israel on Thursday despite the current conflict. She was visiting family including Amalia’s husband Adam Lindemann and their kids in Montauk.

Jebreal told Ronan Farrow on his MSNBC show Monday: “We are disgustingly biased [toward Israel] . . . look at how [much] airtime [Benjamin] Netanyahu and his folks have . . . on a daily basis. I never see one Palestinian being interviewed on these same issues.” But after claiming her appearances on MSNBC were cancelled, she went on Chris Hayes’ show on Tuesday. He fired back, “It is . . . extremely difficult to get a Hamas official to come on your TV show.”
