‘Kardashian’ fans finally see Kim, Kanye proposal

It was the episode “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” fans had been waiting for.

The moment that Kanye West got down on one knee in the middle of San Francisco’s AT&T Park to propose to Kim Kardashian. And it finally aired on E! last night.

It’s been four long months since West’s big proposal, but now that it has been shared with the rest of the world, was the engagement scene all it was hyped up to be?

First, the entire Kardashian clan were flown to San Fran for the rapper’s mysterious 33rd birthday surprise for Kim. There was plenty of speculation as to what was going down, but no one knew for sure.

Matriarch Kris Jenner was the only one who knew of West’s plans, and imposed a “social media lockdown” on the family to keep the plot secret.

“Kanye is a perfectionist,” Kourtney said during the lead-up to the big event. “I know that whatever the surprise is, it’s going to be something major.”

Kanye hired out the entire stadium for the romantic gesture, a move that was originally said to be intended to keep reporters and cameras away. But did we ever really believe the proposal wouldn’t be televised?

Next, the blindfolded reality TV star was driven onto the field while the family waited in anticipation in the dugouts. “I can’t breathe,” Khloe whispered.

As Kim stepped out of the car, led by Kanye, the Chicago Symphony struck up Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful,” which is one of the future Mrs. West’s favorite songs – West reportedly tried to convince Lana herself to perform, but she rejected his offer.

Kim was then unblindfolded and the pair watched the incredible fireworks display in awe.

In the next moment the Stronger hit maker dropped to one knee and turned to his bride-to-be: “I just want to know, If you’ll marry me?” he asked, as the words ‘PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!’ flashed across the big screen.

“Of course,” Kim declared as he slipped the monster 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring on her finger.

In true showman style, West made sure his own Knock You Down started playing after Kim said ‘yes’, and the extended family were given the green light to start galloping across the field to congratulate the happy couple. “Congratulations! This is like a movie,” Kourtney said.

“It’s like the perfect size on my hand. It’s really just the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe I’m engaged … He outdid himself. It feels like I’m in a dream. It’s the surprise of a lifetime,” Kim said afterwards.

“You’re going to need 24-hour security with that thing,” a friend joked. But, at a reported cost of $2.5 million, she’s not wrong.

“I’m honestly just so happy I have Kanye to share my life with and we have our family, and we’re there to support each other no matter what.”

This will be Kim’s second marriage, following last year’s divorce from basketball player Kris Humphries. The pair are reportedly planning to tie the knot in Paris this May. If the no-expense-spared engagement is anything to go by, it’s going to be the celebrity wedding of the year.
