Frank Ocean tells Chipotle to ‘f–k off’ after botched song deal

Rapper Frank Ocean got spicy with the Mexican food chain Chipotle – penning “f–k off” on a check to the firm after a song deal fell through, Business Insider reports.

Earlier this month, Chipotle claimed in a lawsuit that the hip-hop performer backed out of a deal to create a song for a commercial, demanding he fork-over $212,500, which the firm paid him in advance, the paper reports.

In response, Ocean signed a check for that amount on Monday, leaving the heated note in the “memo” section.

The “Novacane” rapper posted an image of the check on his blog on Monday.

Chipotle claims Ocean had signed onto a deal to make an ad promoting responsible farming along with the restaurant – similar to one that singer Fiona Apple appeared in last fall.

But Ocean’s lawyers claim he didn’t know he’d have to tout Chipotle’s logo, too.

“When Frank was asked to participate in this project, Chipotle’s representatives told him that the thrust of the campaign was to promote responsible farming. There was no Chipotle reference or logo in the initial presentation, and Chipotle told Frank that was an intentional element of the campaign,” Ocean’s legal team said in a statement.
