Book debut’s lavish party caps film festival circuit

Anne Thompson celebrated the publication of her ‘The $11 Billion Year’ in an appropriately lavish setting — the art-filled townhouse in the East 60s of art dealer Nathan Bernstein and Katharina Otto-Bernstein, the documentary filmmaker.

Katharina, the daughter of Hamburg industrialist Werner Otto, is said to have a swimming pool on the roof.

Thompson, who blogs about the movie business, chronicled a year of film festivals — from Sundance to Cannes — in 2012, which ended at the 2013 Oscars with “Argo” beating out “Lincoln” for the gold statuettes that seem to mean so much to the bottom line.

Raising a glass at the book party were Ed Pressman, Bob Weinstein, James Schamus, Jay McInerney, Tiffany Dubin, Edward Jay Epstein and Alex Gibney.
