Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Amy Astley says her kids believe her Spanish is worse than that of Michael Bloomberg’s famously accented “El Bloombito.”
Astley considered presenting El Museo del Barrio’s award for artistic achievement to shoe designer Alejandro Ingelmo in Spanish.
But when she tried out her speech on her children, they told her she “sounded worse than Bloomberg.”
So, in front of a full house at Cipriani 42nd Street, she introduced Ingelmo in English.
Guests included artist Ray Smith, Susan Sarandon, Miss Universe Gabriela Isler, chef François Payard, designer Carlos Campos and board members Yaz and Valentin Hernández.
