King & Queen of Sweden celebrate newborn grandchild

Proud grandparents King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden are in New York celebrating the birth of their granddaughter, born to the lovely Princess Madeleine and her American banker husband Christopher O’Neill.

Madeleine, who lives with Chris in New York, gave birth on Thursday, and the king and queen arrived on Friday to meet their granddaughter.

After visiting the newborn and Madeleine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital the kind and queen were spotted having a celebratory brunch at Sirio Ristorante at the Pierre on Saturday. King Carl is expected to formally announce the baby girl’s name this week.
