Artist William Quigley: Stop focusing on Andy Dick

Wild man Andy Dick missed Hamptons benefit Mash-Up Society last weekend.

But he sent a note read by the night’s host, artist William Quigley, saying, “It’s probably better for your sake I’m still in LA.”

When we asked why unpredictable Dick missed his flight, Quigley insisted he should be the focus of our attention.

“Andy never performed at three sell-out shows at Madison [Square] Garden,” he huffed by e-mail. “He . . . was never honored with President Clinton and Roger Waters for all his work in charity. Andy was never on ‘Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous’ . . . [You] could also write that artists are the new REAL celebrities.”

Granted, but Quigley never ran naked through Montauk, as Hurricane Andy did last year.
