Simon Cowell is rebooting his DJ competition show after a deal with Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment fell through two years ago.
Cowell’s company Syco said Monday it’s inked a deal with SFX Entertainment to produce the series, “Ultimate DJ,” to search for the world’s next great mix-master.
The show will first launch online, and DJs will submit recordings that fans can vote on via social media.
Cowell in 2012 announced plans to create a DJ competition with “Men in Black” star Smith and his wife, but the couple and Cowell sparred over who would get top billing in the potential show’s credits.
