Hollywood souls have been known to flout sartorial norms at proper New York establishments, but a jacket-less Joaquin Phoenix didn’t make it past the tough maitre d’ at 21 last week.
The star arrived with Liv Tyler and Claire Danes and was promptly outfitted with one of the restaurant’s loaner blazers.
But the actor “had a big smile on his face about the whole thing,” a spy said.
The trio then dined nearby Maury Povich and Connie Chung and former Steelers coach Bill Cowher.
