Amal’s engagement ring: 7 carats designed by Clooney

He’s got great taste.
George Clooney popped the question to fiancée Amal Alamuddin with a stunning sparkler boasting more than 7 carats, People reports.
The latest addition to Alamuddin’s jewelry collection features an “ethically mined” emerald-cut diamond (estimated at more than 7 carats) flanked by two tapered diamond baguettes, in a platinum setting.
After Clooney, 52, proposed to the London-based lawyer, 36, the couple joined friends for dinner at Craig’s restaurant in Los Angeles on April 23.

The couple were “just beaming,” a fellow diner tells the magazine. “Everyone was toasting and laughing.”
The actor-turned-activist has a reputation for dating actresses, waitresses and most recently wrestler Stacy Keibler, but seems to have met his match in Alamuddin.

The Beirut-born beauty studied at Oxford and the New York University School of Law, speaks French, Arabic and English, represented WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and is now an adviser to former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the special envoy to Syria.
