Kardashians: ‘Our brand is about empowering women’

The Kardashian sisters are a force to be reckoned with in the business world.

Kim, Kourtney and Khloé appeared on CNBC’s “Closing Bell” Monday and revealed the idea behind their brand: helping women, reports Us Weekly.

“I think our brand is all about empowering other women to be successful,” said Kim, 33. Whether it’s their Dash clothing stores, their Kardashian Kollection line or their kids’ line, they’ve always been business-savvy.

The reality TV stars say they re-evaluated their brand in 2013 and decided to only pursue projects they are “extremely passionate about.”

However, the ladies admit it’s not easy balancing business and raising a family. “My mom [Kris Jenner] kind of taught us girls we could have it all,” explained Kim. “You know, she works hard. She taught us that if you work hard, it’s just all about prioritizing.”

And even though their businesses are now booming, things weren’t always so great for the sisters. According to them, they originally weren’t taken seriously as entrepreneurs.

“It is a struggle,” shared Kim. “We started off opening up our Dash clothing store over a decade ago, and that’s where we really started off in fashion. We’ve always been really hard-working girls, and we were fortunate enough to have a TV show.”

The ladies confirmed they signed on for the show to bring “publicity and awareness” to their stores.

“You know, we are businesswomen, we’re entrepreneurs,” said Kim.
