French strikes cause chaos for Cannes travelers

Travelers are having a tough time getting to the Cannes Film Festival due to strikes by French air traffic controllers and taxi drivers.

A source who managed to make it Thursday said, “France-bound flights are on massive delays. Anyone connecting is screwed! I guess it’s private jets only.”

Local cabbies are protesting Uber during the fest and “causing major drama with pickups,” a source said.

Another said that Nice airport “was crazy with riots and private cars being blocked and attacked.”

“Tempers flaring at airport . . . taxi drivers are blocking the entrance,” an attendee tweeted.

A UK film exec fumed, “missing important screenings and meetings.”

One festgoer told us he’s “stranded in London” with Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai. We don’t sympathize.
