It’s not easy being handsome. Just ask Rob Lowe.

“There’s this unbelievable bias and prejudice against quote-unquote good-looking people, that they can’t be in pain or they can’t have rough lives or be deep or interesting,” the actor told the New York Times Magazine. “They can’t be any of the things that you long to play as an actor. I’m getting to play those parts now and loving it. When I was a teen idol, I was so goddamn pretty I wouldn’t have taken myself seriously.”

The former “West Wing” star also believes that this prejudice against beautiful people is why many viewers were shocked to see him excel in comedies like “Parks and Recreation” and “Californication.”

“Again, there’s a historical bias that good-looking people are not funny,” the former Brat Pack member said.

Lowe will get another chance to show off his comedic chops opposite Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel in “Sex Tape,” which hits theaters on July 25.

The actor, who infamously starred in one of the first celebrity sex tapes in the late ’80s, joked about the movie in an interview with The Post on Saturday about his upcoming memoir, “Love Life.”

“I decided it was high time for me to actually get something good out of the sex tape,” he joked.
