James Fairchild in new war with ex-lover

While publishing scion James B. Fairchild’s bitter divorce battle with Whitney St. John continues, he’s in an equally nasty split with ex-girlfriend of a year Dr. Christine Borelli Grout.

Former Ralph Lauren VP Fairchild, 56, and psychologist Borelli, 44, broke up in May after a domestic incident for which police were called. Now the pair are locked in a war of words over money and a missing $250,000 check.

Borelli claims Fairchild left her and her children homeless after he failed to pay the rent on their Sag Harbor home. The landlord is now suing for three months of unpaid rent. But Fairchild claims he gave her the rent money and owes no more because he moved out of the house in May.

A May 6 domestic incident police report seen by Page Six states that he and Borelli “have had several verbal disputes, he had decided to end the relationship. [He] requested police presence to assist removal of a change of clothes.”

A second police report from June 6 adds that Fairchild claims Borelli “took a package.” Fairchild believes the package contained a check made out to him for up to $250,000, the proceeds of his and St. John’s court-ordered Hamptons estate sale. No arrest was made and police advised Fairchild the matter would have to be resolved in family court. Borelli denies taking the package and claims he is trying to smear her.

Borelli’s lawyer, Marie Elena Klarman, threatened to sue if we print any “defamatory statements” made by Fairchild against Borelli. Klarman added, “Please note that Dr. Borelli Grout obtained today [Thursday] a temporary order of protection against Mr. Fairchild.” While Fairchild has not been accused of abusing drugs or alcohol, Klarman added, “The order further prohibits Mr. Fairchild from purchasing, using, possessing, and/or consuming alcohol, illegal drugs, narcotics, and/or unprescribed medications that create an unreasonable risk to the health, safety, or welfare of Dr. Borelli.”

His attorney, Michael Stutman, said, “He is under no obligation to support Miss Borelli or her children. She sounds rather desperate.”
