Christie Brinkley may sell Hamptons estate

Christie Brinkley is still in love with the Hamptons. But she’s thinking of selling the 21-acre Tower Hill estate designed by her architect ex-husband Peter Cook.

The property in Bridgehampton — which includes an 11-bedroom main house, a guest house and an art studio — has been on and off the market since 2005, but it didn’t draw much interest four years ago when the price tag was $30 million.

“There has been talk about putting it back on the market,” a friend of Brinkley’s told me. “But she’s not leaving the Hamptons. She has other homes in the area she is currently renovating.”

Under her 2008 divorce settlement with Cook, Brinkley has to live within a 25-mile radius of Tower Hill until the former couple’s kids are out of high school.

Son Jack, 18, is already at Emerson College in Boston. Sailor, who turns 16 in July, is a sophomore at the Ross School and signed up as a model at IMG.

Since enduring a sensational and bitter divorce trial, the couple continues to snipe at one another. After Brinkley posed in a bathing suit for the cover of People magazine in January, Cook blasted her “gross exaggerations, revisionist history and self-serving dishonesty.”

Another friend of Christie told me, “She might still keep a base in the Hamptons, but her kids are [nearly] grown. She’s looking to sell now while the market is hot.”

Richard Gere is already testing the market with Strongheart Manor, a 6.3-acre estate he assembled from three lots in North Haven with a main house built in 1902. The price is a wishful $65 million.
