Pippa Middleton: Fame has its upsides, and its backside

Back in 2011, Pippa Middleton’s backside almost upstaged her sister’s wedding to Prince William when she donned a figure-hugging Alexander McQueen dress that launched a thousand memes.

Now, the 30-year-old has spoken publicly for the first time about becoming world famous purely because of her derrière.

At a dinner held by the Women in Advertising and Communications London group at the Savoy Hotel in London, Middleton quipped, “As I have found out, recognition has its upside, its downside and — you may say — its backside.”

The younger Middleton also spoke about how the royal wedding had “changed” her life.

“She came across as really grateful for the opportunities but also talked about the pitfalls of her position,” an audience member said, according to US Weekly.

The younger Middleton was equally down to earth about the disappointing reception of her entertaining book, “Celebrate,” admitting that it was “difficult” to read the negative reviews. She was dropped by her American publisher, Viking Press, after selling just 18,000 copies of her book.

Things, however, have been running a little more smoothly in her personal life, as she’s been dating British stockbroker Nico Jackson since early last year.
