Barron Hilton II wants to follow in his famous family’s footsteps by getting into the hotel business — but on his own terms.
The eager 26-year-old joined sister Paris Hilton at designer Jeremy Scott’s Art Basel bash Wednesday at Surf Lodge where he was overheard discussing plans to distance himself from the staid Hilton brand.
Barron’s father, Rick Hilton, has put him in touch with conservative hoteliers for guidance. But the young heir wants to know the ins and outs of the industry before going out on his own and is seeking out younger, hipper mentors like SIXTY Hotels CEO Jason Pomeranc for direction.
“He knows the expectations would be high when he opens a hotel so he wants to know what his doing,” said the source.
