Anne Hathaway was blown away by Cate Blanchett‘s performance in “A Streetcar Named Desire.” At the Belle Reve Gala for the Tennessee Williams play at BAM, Hathaway said, “I am so moved. I think Cate’s performance was amazing.” Others who gave Blanchett (above) a standing ovation included Natalie Portman, Alan Cumming and Charlotte Rampling. Despite rave reviews, Blanchett told guests at the reception, “We all know that this is a masterwork, and we were all incredibly nervous. There’s an expression in Australia — forgive my French — called ‘[bleep]ing your pants.”
