‘Love & Hip Hop’ star released on $600K bail

Mendeecees Harris, who stars on “Love & Hip Hop,” has been released from prison.

U.S. District Judge Frank Geraci Jr. agreed to release Harris from the Yates County Jail on a $600,000 bond package on Monday, the Democrat & Chronicle reports.

Half of the bond money was provided in court, of which $200,000 came from Harris’s fiancée, Yandy Smith, TMZ reports. The couple’s relationship is a major storyline on the popular VH1 reality show.

The 35-year-old Harris was sentenced to jail time following his alleged involvement in a New York City-based drug ring that transported cocaine to the Rochester area and also included his brother, Tyrus, and another man, Ronald Walker. Both Tyrus and Walker have pled guilty.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank Sherman says the bail agreement is expected to be substantial enough to ensure Harris returns for future court dates, the newspaper reports.

Harris had been incarcerated since January 2013.

In February 2013, Harris was acquitted of a slew of charges unrelated to this case, including sexual assault, child endangerment and promoting prostitution.
