Pat Riley missed Bruckheimer’s party due to Heat game

Miami Heat president Pat Riley couldn’t attend a New York book bash for his good friend, top Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer, because he had to see his squad crush the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.

The basketball guru instead made sure to send a speech for Michael Douglas to read, touting the new tome written by Michael Singer.

“This book shows how films are really made,” Riley wrote of “Jerry Bruckheimer: When Lightning Strikes — Four Decades of Filmmaking,” which follows Bruckheimer’s 47 films to date including the blockbusters “Top Gun,” “Beverly Hills Cop” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

Guests at the Monkey Bar party included Woody Johnson, Les Moonves, Claire Danes, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Charlie Rose.
