Heidi Klum and her bodyguard boyfriend Martin Kirsten have called it quits.
The supermodel and Kirsten broke up “a few weeks ago” after dating for a year-and-a-half, People magazine reports.
The pair began their relationship weeks after Klum filed for divorce from her second husband, the singer Seal, in 2012. A source told People: “Martin was there for her during a challenging time in her life and it was something she will always be grateful for.”
Another source added, “Life is about timing. He was incredibly supportive and they were there for each other, but they’re moving on now. They still have a great friendship.”
Klum, a single mother of four kids, gushed about her bodyguard beau by telling one German mag after the pair went public with their romance, “He’s been helping me for four years now, and he takes wonderful care of the kids. He plays with them, he protects them. I trust him.”
Klum, 40, and Kirsten, 41, were last seen together celebrating New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas with friends and wearing goofy costumes. Despite the split, Klum was all smiles when she appeared on “The Tonight Show” last week to bid farewell to outgoing host Jay Leno.
