Amy Winehouse heads back to rehab

LONDON — Amy Winehouse is back in rehab to deal with her drinking before she embarks on a comeback tour this summer, People magazine reported Friday.

The British soul singer checked into the Priory Clinic in the UK Wednesday, reportedly at her dad’s insistence. She was seen downing a mini bottle of vodka on the way to the facility “in typical Amy style,” a friend told the celebrity magazine.

The 27-year-old is getting treatment before launching a series of summer shows on June 18.

“She wants to be ready for performances in Europe this summer and decided to seek an assessment. She will remain at the Priory on doctors’ advice,” her rep said in a statement.

Her father, Mitch, reportedly “sat her down and said ‘I think you’re drinking too much again.’ So she agreed to get an assessment to stop it becoming a bigger problem,” a source said.

The Grammy winner has been in and out of rehab and has dealt with multiple legal woes for assault and drug possession throughout her music career.

She only returned to full-scale performing in January, after taking a two-year break to battle her addictions.
