Too drunk, or sticky fingers? A fashion reporter was spotted trying to make off with a fellow party guest’s leather jacket and a producer’s purse following the premiere of animated short film “Cadaver,” starring teenage blog prodigy Tavi Gevinson. A witness said the writer, who works for a well-known fashion site, was collared at the door of the bash at the Standard East Village in the early hours of Monday morning. A witness tells us, “At the end of the party, around 2 a.m., a guest noticed her leather jacket was missing, and the film’s producer couldn’t find her leather purse. Someone spotted the writer outside with both. She was confronted, and she handed them back without saying anything. The police weren’t called and she was allowed to leave. But everyone who saw it was aghast.” The source added, “But the writer’s bag was found at the venue the next morning, so perhaps she was drunk and took the wrong bag. But she did leave wearing her coat AND holding the leather jacket.” A rep for the event simply explained, “It was a confusion with two girls’ handbags at the end of the night.”
