While accepting the final of her six awards during last night’s 54th annual Grammys, British songstress Adele said that her album “21” had been inspired by “something we’ve all experienced, a rubbish relationship.” Still, the British songstress shares that her ex is “happy for” her after her strong showing at the music industry awards show.
“I think he’d be very happy for me,” Adele said of her ex, who was revealed over the weekend to be musician and actor Slinky Sunbeam.

Adele’s new boyfriend Simon Konecki was at the singer’s side last night, hugging and kissing her every time she strolled to the stage to accept an award. Adele even thanked her new beau by name after receiving the award for “Album of the Year.”
But the couple’s relationship might be bad news for fans who have connected deeply to Adele’s songs of heartbreak. When asked backstage if she was writing any new material, Adele gushed, “Oh, no. I’m too busy being happy!”
The singer also revealed that the weeks following her throat surgery, when she wasn’t able to speak, were some of the happiest of her life — presumably because of her new relationship.
“It’s actually been really, really peaceful,” she said when asked about the healing process. “It was a bit traumatic having to have the surgery, but being silent in such a noisy world — it was a bit of blessing in disguise … I’ve actually never been happier. I found great happiness when I was ill.”

Adele and Konecki were first spotted together in early January on vacation, taking an airboat tour of Florida’s Everglades National Park. When reports surfaced soon after that Konecki was married, Adele took to her blog to stamp out rumors.
“This is the first and last time I will comment on the details of my relationship with Simon,” she wrote. “Contrary to reports and headlines in the press today, Simon is divorced and has been for 4 years. Everyone in our lives separately and together wish us nothing but the best, and vice versa. These are the facts. Take care and see you all in February xx.”
