Adele covers Vogue, hot off Grammy sweep

Hot off winning six gramophone trophies at the 54th annual Grammy Awards, Adele has racked up yet another coveted honor — the cover of Vogue.

The British songstress looks stunning on the March cover of the fashion bible in an image, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, that showcases both her beautiful face and plays up her dynamic curves. Inside the upcoming issue, the star chats about love, both past and present, as well as her recent throat surgery.

In the magazine, Adele changes her tune on the ex who inspired her album “21,” revealed over the weekend to be a musician and actor who goes by the name Slinky Sunbeam.

“You know, he was amazing. He was great. But it was never going to work,” says Adele. “For ages I was like, ‘As if he deserves any [bleeping] kudos for inspiring my record.’ But now, after some time, it only seems right that the person who so far has had the biggest impact on me—has now changed my life for [bleeping] ever with this album—deserves a little credit … If I hadn’t met him, I think I’d still be that little girl I was when I was eighteen.”

The singer shares that she’s learned her lesson, however, about writing songs based on heartbreak.

“I am never writing a breakup record again, by the way,” she says. “I’m done with being a bitter witch.”

The star also talks about her new romance with Simon Konecki, who was at her side at last night’s Grammys.

“He’s wonderful,” Adele says. “He’s proud of me, but he don’t care about what I do or what other people think. He looks after me. I don’t think I would have gotten through the recovery for my surgery if it hadn’t been for him.”

Speaking of her surgery, Adele shares that as she was experiencing a vocal cord hemorrhage, many other singers reached out to share that they’d been through the same thing.

“John Mayer had it done at the same time as I did,” says Adele of her surgery, “and he really helped me be chilled out about it. Roger Daltrey’s had loads of stuff done; Steven Tyler reached out; Elton John. Lots of artists have had problems with their voices, but you don’t know about it. And they are still singing incredibly well in their 50s and 60s.”
