Salman Rushdie celebrated surviving a fatwa and four marriages with a “wild” 65th-birthday party at the Four Seasons Restaurant on Tuesday night, complete with a titillating show by burlesque dancer Hazel Honeysuckle. Guests including hot Hollywood couple Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde, The New Yorker Editor-in-Chief David Remnick and Diane von Furstenberg joined the bash thrown by Michelle Barish. We reported that Barish in February declined a marriage proposal from the literary lothario, who presented her with a 7-carat emerald-cut diamond ring, but apparently the pair are still very close. “It was an incredible, wild and elegant party,” a source reports. We’re told guests were also treated to a routine by experimental performance artist Laurie Anderson and kept the posh power-lunch restaurant rocking until midnight. Each guest received a hollow leather-bound book containing a scroll of Rushdie writings. Barish and Rushdie dated on and off after her split from Marquee co-owner Chris Barish. She couldn’t be reached last night.
