Celebrities pack MSG for Heat-Knicks matchup

Defending NBA champs the Miami Heat turned up the celebrity quotient at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night.

In the VIP elevator, Paul Simon hummed and sang “What I Am,” a song written by his wife, Edie Brickell, to her, taxicab mogul Evgeny Freidman and construction tycoon Jack Irushalmi, who recently invested in Fastbreak Sports.

Besides Knicks crowd regulars Spike Lee and Woody Allen, there was Liam Neeson and Kate Upton, and Knicks owner James Dolan chatting up Katie Holmes.

Following the Knicks victory, Michael J. Fox exited with his wife Tracy Pollan, and the two were surrounded by paparazzi and autograph seekers. While some yelled “Give him room!”, Fox was stuck until ad mogul Donny Deutsch took Fox by the arm and led him down the block to his car.

Knicks forward Kenyon Martin celebrated at Tao Downtown with a party of five, while Heat center Chris Bosh hosted a table of six.
