Chazz Palminteri gets the check at Pera Mediterranean Brasserie

Some restaurants give their patrons after-dinner cookies or cordials at the end of the meal.

So you can imagine Chazz Palminteri’s face when — following dinner at Pera Mediterranean Brasserie on Madison Avenue — restaurant owner Burak Karacam handed him a check for $1,200 for the Child Reach Foundation.

The actor, who wrote the film “A Bronx Tale” about his own rough-and-tumble youth, co-founded the charity for disabled kids with his dinner companion and boyhood pal, NY State Deputy Inspector General Phil Foglia.

Fans at the restaurant asked Palminteri to sign his autograph as “Shorty,” his recurring character on “Modern Family.”
