“Modern Family” actress Ariel Winter’s mother, Chrisoula “Chris” Workman, attempted to have nude pics of her older daughter Shanelle released, according to a Hollywood publicist.
Jonathan Hay told TMZ that he had been contacted by Winter’s mother in her attempt to secretly release the alleged photos taken years ago. Hay refused her repeated requests to leak the pics because he felt she was trying to “sell out her daughter” and make Shanelle, now 34, look bad.
Hay tells the gossip site he’s been contacted by the “Modern Family” star’s legal team but he isn’t sure if he will play a role in Winter’s custody battle. He adds he wants to help Winter and that he would file a declaration in support of her, but he has not been asked to do so yet.
“In all my years of being a publicist, I have never seen anyone stoop as low as wanting to sell out and destroy the reputation of her own daughter. Crystal said she wanted the public to see Shanelle for who she really was and smear her daughter in attempts to try and get custody back of Ariel,” Hay told RadarOnline.
Winter, 14, was removed from her family home in November on suspicion of emotional and physical abuse allegedly caused by her mother. Shanelle, an actress herself, has been granted temporary guardianship of her younger sister.
