Jenna Bush pregnant: confirmed on ‘Today’

Don’t call George W. Bush “Grandpa.” The former President expects his future grandchild to call him “Sir.”

At least that’s what he said when he phoned the “Today” show during his daughter Jenna’s on-air announcement.

The former First Daughter has confirmed that she’s expecting her first child after numerous whispers of a burgeoning baby bump.

The “Today” correspondent was surprised with a bouquet of flowers from her husband, Henry Hager.

Jenna, who got married in May of 2008 at the Bush ranch in Crawford, said her parents were eager for her to start a family.

“I’m fired up!” President Bush added.

When asked what he wanted to be known as, he replied: “Sir!

Jenna riffed, “We want them to call him ‘Poncho.’”

President Bush added, “Jimmy Baker’s grandkids call him Haffy, it means boss.”

On her pregnancy, Jenna revealed that she and her husband are “excited and obviously nervous.”

She admitted, “I’m a first-time mom. This is something I’ve always wanted. I’m a teacher and I love kids.”

As she started to tear up from happiness, she laughed, “I’m hormonal.”

Jenna, who’s rumored to be five-months along, confessed, “We’ve been able to keep it a secret and just us – it’s so sacred – for a pretty long time, longer than most,. But obviously, I’m going to start getting bigger and bigger.”

When asked what kind of mother Jenna would be, Henry replied, “Amazing, absolutely amazing. You obviously see her personality every day. She’s a teacher, she loves to teach kids, I know she’ll instill wonderful values. We have such a loving family, we have so much support.”
