Kim Kardashian’s doctor reportedly believes her unborn baby could be at risk due to the stress of her divorce from her husband of 72 days, Kris Humphries.
According to TMZ, Kardashian experienced pains in the middle of the night and called her doctor. After his examination, he determined that the pain was stress-related due to her messy divorce from Humphries.
Incidentally, just hours before a Tuesday meeting with her divorce attorney Laura Wasser, Kardashian’s pregnancy-related pains “returned in full force,” the gossip site reports.
Her doctor allegedly warned her that there could be “long-term effects” if she does not put a handle on the situation. Sources said that she is “freaked out” that her pregnancy could be at risk.
Meanwhile, the NBA player is in no rush to speed through the divorce proceedings just because his estranged wife is pregnant with Kanye West’s baby. The Nets star is trying to prove that his wife committed fraud during their marriage and is seeking an annulment.
E! News reports that Humphries has filed a motion to block Kardashian’s request to set an immediate trial date to finalize their divorce.
Humphries’ legal team claims that the E! star is trying to speed through the proceedings, using her pregnancy as an advantage.
In court filings, Humphries’ attorney Marshall Waller stated, “What is really going on here is that an ‘urgency’ in the form of an apparently unplanned pregnancy, something the Respondent had nothing to do with, is perceived by Plaintiff as an opportunity to gain a litigation advantage by trying to force this court to prematurely set this matter for trial”.
The next hearing to determine readiness to go to trial will take place Feb. 15, the day after Valentine’s Day.
