Robin Roberts back to ‘GMA’ in two weeks

Robin Roberts will officially return to “Good Morning America” on Feb. 20 – five months after her bone marrow transplant to treat myelodysplastic syndrome [MDS].

“I cannot wait to return to my GMA family,” Roberts, 52, told ABC News. “It’s going to be an incredible morning in Times Square. The overwhelming thoughts and prayers of the viewers have played a major part in getting me here today. I cannot thank everyone enough.”

The anchor was given the clear from her doctors as her tests have shown no abnormalities. She continued to gain strength and energy and has been back in the studio for dry runs before her official return.

Roberts also wrote about her comeback in a blog post. “Hallelujah!” she writes. “I’m heading to the beach for the next week to reflect and give thanks for my many blessings.”

A special edition of “20/20” on Feb. 22 will feature a candid look at Roberts’ journey through MDS and offer viewers a chance to draw from her example.
