Naomi Campbell having a heel of a time after surgery

After surgery, Naomi Campbell can finally don heels — just in time for Fashion Week. The supermodel told CNN’s Alina Cho she is on the mend after that frightening Paris incident in November when two men on motorcycles grabbed Campbell from her car and tried to steal her handbag. Campbell confirmed to Cho she’d had an operation on her leg and couldn’t wear sky-high heels until last week. “I can’t keep them on for too long,” she added. Campbell appeared in New York last week to promote her new model competition show “The Face.” The model also defended her close friend John Galliano. “You may take away his name, but you can’t take away his talent,” she said. “I’ve seen John, he’s a survivor. He has nine lives. You have to forgive, everyone makes mistakes. I’ve been forgiven. I wouldn’t be sitting here if I wasn’t forgiven. We all are human.” Cho’s interview with Campbell will air tomorrow on CNN and during an expanded half-hour special, “Fashion: Backstage Pass,” airing Saturday. Campbell added of her legendary diva behavior, “My lateness was terrible, and I’ll admit to that, but I never would actually come in with a story of why I was late. But I’d get there, and I’d get the job done. I never believed in giving an excuse. I’m not going to lie.”
