‘Tension’ between Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb over permanent LA move: report

Could there be a simmering feud between Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb? There’s reportedly “tension” between the co-hosts over moving their “Today” show segment to Hollywood.

Gifford and Kotb have relocated to Tinseltown for a two-week stint as the morning show’s fourth-hour hosts, but as Page Six revealed this week, Gifford would like to make the move permanent.

Now, TMZ reports that Gifford has been lobbying to move the show for a long time, but Hoda has been adamant about staying in the Big Apple.

Kotb allegedly thought that Gifford would want to stay in NYC when she started doing her Broadway show, “Scandalous,” but after the show wrapped in December, Gifford is once again pushing to head West.

Additionally, sources told the gossip site that there’s some “tension” brewing: Kotb reportedly felt “snubbed” because Gifford did not promote Kotb’s new book, “Ten Years Later,” on air.

“Both women are really strong, so tension is almost inevitable,” says one source.

For now, they’ve reportedly reached a compromise and will film the show in LA every few weeks.

“Kathie Lee wants to try to get Hoda to leave New York,” our source said last week.

Our source said that one reason Gifford is champing at the bit to move to the other coast full time is to be closer to her kids: Her son, Cody, is a football-playing senior at USC (where his dad, Frank Gifford, was a legend before joining the Giants) and teen daughter Cassidy is a budding model and actress.
