Kris Humphries’ lawyer quits, says there’s no proof of fraud: report

Another delay looms in the seemingly never-ending Kim Kardashian-Kris Humphries divorce.

Humphries’ divorce attorney, Marshall Waller, has filed papers to drop Humphries as a client just one day before he and Kardashian’s attorney are expected to appear in court for a scheduling hearing today.

In papers filed to the L.A. Superior Court, Waller cites “irreconcilable differences” causing an “irremediable breakdown of the attorney-client relationship.”

The NBA star’s out-of-state lawyer, Lee Hutton, now needs another California lawyer to sponsor him in the divorce case.

Humphries is pushing for an annulment on the grounds that his marriage of 72-days was based on fraud.

However, as reported by TMZ, even his ex-lawyer-to-be thinks that Humphries is “abusing the legal system” for insisting on an annulment. Translation – Waller thinks there’s no proof of fraud.

Sources connected to Humphries told the gossip site that Waller made it clear to the basketball player that there are no legal grounds for an annulment because there is no evidence of fraud.

The parties’ legal teams are in court this morning in Los Angeles. Kardashian’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, will demand a trial date as early as next month. Humphries wants the case to remain on hold until the basketball season ends.

Interestingly, Humphries can now argue that he needs more time since he lost his California lawyer.

If Waller is allowed to leave, it could delay a judge’s decision on a trial date. It will be the fourth time the judge would have delayed the trial since their marriage ended a year and a half ago.

The reality TV star and boyfriend Kanye West are set to welcome a baby in July. Each side accuses the other of trying to use Kardashian’s pregnancy for a legal advantage.

Superior Court Judge Stephen Moloney will determine today how the case will proceed. He has previously said the case should be ready for trial early this year.
