Bono, New York business, art and fashion luminaries, and a swathe of socialites converged at the newly launched Paramount Hotel to celebrate real-estate mogul Aby Rosen’s birthday on Thursday night. For the “600-person blowout,” the hip 46th Street hotel, which Rosen owns, was transformed into a club with mirrored bars, aerial performers and a DJ booth. The lavish bash, hosted by Alberto Mugrab
i, Vito Schnabel, Diego Marroquin, Lyor Cohen and Stavros Niarchos, brought together art-world giants, including Tony Shafrazi — who arrived with Owen Wilson Larry Gagosian, Klaus Biesenbach and Simon de Pury; fashion designers Vera Wang, Cynthia Rowley, Olivier Theyskens and Tory Burch; and Rosen’s wife, prominent art collector Samantha Boardman, whose Couture dress was a masterpiece itself. Into the early hours Rosen, who owns some of New York City’s iconic structures, including Lever House and the Seagram Building, held court in an upstairs alcove with Bono, Guy Oseary and Bob Colacello, while Ashley Olsen, Nicky Hilton, Genevieve Jones, Lauren Santo Domingo, Jamie Tisch, Vikram Chatwal, Dori Cooperman and Lily Donaldson mingled through what seemed like an endless series of party rooms, each with its own open Champagne bar.
