Eliot Spitzer nemesis Dick Grasso, the former New York Stock Exchange chairman, celebrated July Fourth weekend in style before Spitzer perhaps ruined his day by announcing his political comeback. Grasso was among those at the 70th birthday bash for insurance giant Joe Plumeri, CEO of the Willis Group, at East Hampton’s Race Lane restaurant Sunday night. Joe’s son, Jay Plumeri, who owns Race Lane, turned the garden into an outdoor supper club, complete with a Frank Sinatra impersonator, champagne and a five-course dinner. Those toasting Plumeri included Henry and Marie-Josée Kravis, KKR’s Scott Nuttall, Jeffrey and Nancy Lane, Lew Eisenberg and Bill
White with husband Bryan Eure.
