Champagne, luxury toiletries and a reclining chair for daddy — just some of the extras in the plush maternity unit where Kate Middleton will give birth.

The Duchess of Cambridge will be cared for at the internationally renowned Lindo Wing and when the baby is born, top chefs will be on hand to whip up whatever Kate and Prince William fancy to eat.

The baby is due any day now and the cost of a suite at the unit — attached to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, central London — is £6,265 ($9,450) for a one-night stay with no complications and £2,200 ($3,318) for each extra night.

Based on a trouble-free three-night stay, Kate’s bill will top £10,000 ($15,085) — and it is possible she and Wills have booked more than one suite.
