Paris Jackson reportedly battled suicidal tendencies for some time before she cut her wrist with a meat cleaver on June 5.
According to TMZ, the damage done from her suicide bid is described as “horrifying,” and could indicate she had fallen into an obsession with cutting. As one source explained, “Paris absolutely tried to kill herself, and it wasn’t the first time.”
The gossip site also published photos from the teenager’s Tumblr page that consists of graphic pictures of death, suicide and cutting.
They posted a photo of a girl cutting into her arm with scissors and the caption, “I [bleeping] hate myself.” Another disturbing image read, “I can’t feel anything but sadness.”
Another post contains the message, “Why did you try to kill yourself?” The answer read: “You told me to be happy.”
Several other posts, however, have anti-cutting messages, leading her family to believe that she sought help from time to time, TMZ reports.
The 15-year-old high school student is currently undergoing treatment at a psychiatric facility at UCLA Medical Center following her suicide attempt. It’s said is “doing better” but she’ll be seeking long-term mental health treatment.
“Paris will be staying at least another week, and then she’ll be going to a facility for additional care,” a source close to the Jackson family told People.
