Ritzy Italian restaurant Sant Ambroeus — which regularly feeds celebs including Sarah Jessica Parker, Bono, Lenny Kravitz and Katy Perry — has added noise pollution to the menu at its new Soho location.
We’re told the downtown outpost of the eatery with popular Upper East Side, West Village and Southampton locations has angered Lafayette Street neighbors since opening in January by installing an exhaust system in a courtyard surrounded by apartment buildings.
“It’s like living on a tarmac,” Jimi Celeste, a photographer for Patrick McMullan who lives near the restaurant, tells us, claiming the system makes a racket 18 hours a day.
We’re further told Sant Ambroeus has received several written noise violations. But, an insider told us, “The restaurant would apparently rather pay the $560 fines than negotiate with neighbors and pay for a costly reinstallation.”
Reps for Sant Ambroeus did not respond for comment Tuesday night.
