The-Dream denies assault allegations, says he’s ‘lovely’

All-star producer The-Dream continues to deny hitting ex-girlfriend Lydia Nam and says the allegations against him are really about money.

During an impromptu interview Sunday, the mastermind behind hits “Single Ladies” and “Umbrella,” whose real name is Terius Nash, told TMZ he’s too nice to have hit the mother of his child.

“Well, of course they are, man, I’m such a lovely person,” the 36-year-old said with a giggle when asked if the accusations were false.

“They always told me, if you get this much money, just know someone’s always going to want it,” he added.

While the producer may think the allegations that he assaulted Nam are laughable, authorities are treating them seriously.

Nash was arraigned last month in New York on charges of assault, strangulation, harassment and reckless endangerment relating to an April 2013 altercation with Nam at The Plaza.

Nam, who was eight months pregnant at the time of the alleged attack, claims fear for her safety caused her to wait seven months before pressing charges against Nash.
