Robert De Niro roasted his Tribeca Enterprises partner Jane Rosenthal when she received Montblanc’s de la Culture Arts Patronage Award at Stephan Weiss Studios Tuesday.
“She’ll tell you she was this big executive working at Disney … It’s all bulls —t,” he cracked. “I would see this pathetic waif standing outside the subway selling apples. She was selling them for a quarter … Once, when she didn’t have change, I gave her a dollar [on] Christmas morning.”
Rosenthal got him back, joking, “If it weren’t for Bob, I wouldn’t be here right now. I would probably be running that studio, making a zillion dollars and living in some mansion in Beverly Hills … but honestly, I wouldn’t trade this for the world.”
