Lindsay Lohan’s debuted her turn as screen icon Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime flick “Liz & Dick,” last night – and surprise, surprise folks overall weren’t impressed.

Every onscreen minutia seemed to be fare for fodder, from her wardrobe to the script, to Lohan’s accent in the film. Professional film critics already published harsh advance reviews, but many among the viewing public also expressed their dismay on Twitter.

“Just turned on #LizAndDick after The Walking Dead. The walkers have more charisma and screen presence than Lindsey Lohan,” wrote one Twitter user. “Holy God in heaven… #LizandDick is pure torture,” posted another.

“These last 2 days of food poisoning have entertained me more than this movie #LizandDick,” slammed another in a particularly harsh tweet.

Celebrities also weighed in on Lohan’s supposed acting comeback. Singer Aimee Mann wrote, “I get the feeling the phrase “It is what it is” was said a lot in the editing room. #lizanddick”

Swimsuit model Chrissy Teigan tweeted: “Lindsay Lohan had a better British accent in the parent trap and that is not a joke.”

Singer Josh Groban posted, “OMG during half time I switched to 5 minutes of #LizAndDick and it’s so awkwardly made, I feel embarrassed in my no-no place.”

Kathy Griffin posted a nod to Lohan’s jewelry theft incident in 2011 when she noticed a sign that read “Shoplifting is a crime” during a scene. “The set dresser had a sense of humor. #lizanddick,” Griffin wrote alongside an Instagram still of the scene.

Coincidentally, the 26-year-old actress recently opened up about her role, admitting that her frequent brushes with the law made her a better actress. “Everything I’ve gone through made me ready to play Liz,” the star told Us Weekly. However, the Taylor comparisons ended there when she told the magazine, “Elizabeth was drunk on sets. I’ve never been drunk on set, ever. I did my time and I respect the law.”

Lindsay also confessed to loving the everyday media attention, but admitted to feeling “bullied” at times.

“Since I was a kid, I’ve loved being on camera. Don’t misconstrue that: I didn’t strive to have flashbulbs at dinner or people who don’t know me calling TMZ. And 99 percent of the time, it’s not true,” she explained. “I feel bullied. I can’t think of any actor who has been subjected to such extreme publicity who hasn’t, like, committed suicide.” Well, we hope she didn’t check Twitter too much last night.
