Dolly Parton set the record straight about the persistent rumors that she’s in a romantic relationship with her childhood best friend, Judy Ogle.

“Judy and I have been best friends since we were like in the third and fourth grade,” the legendary country singer told ABC’s “Nightline.”

She added: “We still just have a great friendship and relationship and I love her as much as I love anybody in the whole world, but we’re not romantically involved.”

Even though Parton has been married to Carl Dean for 46 years, she admits she’s been hounded by the false rumors and even bonds over it with Oprah Winfrey. Coincidentally, the talk show queen has also been rumored to be in a relationship with her best friend, CBS anchor Gayle King. Oprah insists she’s not gay

“Like Gayle, her friend, Judy, my friend … [people] just think that you just can’t be that close to somebody.”

Parton appeared on the show to promote her new memoir “Dream More.”
