Billy Idol went back to his punk roots Thursday — at least in the literary sense.

To celebrate his memoir “Dancing With Myself,” due out from Touchstone, the snarly singer read from the tome at a private dinner for 30 at The Lion.

A spy said the excerpt was about his early days as a punk rock fan — then named William Broad — who “found a haven in a London lesbian club called Louise’s.”

The restaurant made a cocktail in his honor called the Rebel Yell.

Idol, 58, plays Atlantic City Saturday.
