Chef Michael White is looking to cross the pond for his next restaurant. Sources tell us the chef of Altamarea Group, which owns Marea, Ai Fiori and Nicoletta, was overheard telling guests at a Relais & Chateaux dinner at London’s Old Billingsgate on Monday that he’s staying in town a few extra days to look for a spot to house a new eatery there. White and 45 top R&C chefs — including Fearrington House’s Colin Bedford, White Barn Inn & Spa’s Jonathan Cartwright, Inn at Little Washington’s Patrick O’Connell and Menton’s Barbara Lynch — whipped up a six-course meal for 650 guests at R&C’s annual Grands Chefs dinner this week. The event raised more than $150,000 for the charity Action Against Hunger.
